Consign

How consigning works, start to finish.

You pack your cards and send them to us, and from there we carry the work and you get paid when they sell.

01 · Pack and send

You get the cards to us.

You box the cards up and ship them over. Postage in is on you, and we would ask that you use tracking and insure anything over $100, because that stretch between your hands and ours is the one part of this neither of us can see.

02 · We log what arrived

The risk becomes ours the moment they land.

Within 2 business days of your parcel arriving we send you a list of everything that was in it, so you know exactly what made it and what each card is going into.

03 · Scan, price, photograph

Every card gets the same treatment.

Each one is scanned at full resolution, priced against real sold data rather than against what people are asking, and photographed with eight shots including all four corners and both long edges. Anything under $5 of market value goes into a bulk lot rather than its own listing, built in lots of 10 to 15 cards.

04 · We list and we ship

It goes up, and when it sells we post it.

A single card costs $1.99 to list and that is charged whether the card sells or not. A lot is $2.99 for the whole lot rather than a fee per card inside it. When something sells we pack and post it to the buyer, with cards under $20 going in a tracked envelope and dearer ones in a bubble mailer.

05 · The sale

It sells on eBay, where you can watch it.

Every payment runs through eBay, so you see the real sale price rather than taking our word for it. eBay holds the funds on a sale until delivery to the buyer is confirmed, which is their policy rather than ours and not something either of us controls.

06 · You get paid

Paid within 3 business days of eBay releasing the funds to us.

That clock starts when the money reaches us rather than when the card sells, because eBay holds the funds on a sale until delivery is confirmed, so the clock starts when the money reaches us rather than when the card sells, so a promise measured from the sale would be one we could not keep on our own.

Your share goes up with the sale price.

The cost of selling a card barely moves whether it is worth five dollars or five hundred, so the dearer a card sells for, the larger the share of it you keep. Postage pulls the other way in the middle of the range, because a dearer card needs a mailer that costs about six times what an envelope does.

There is no single percentage to quote you, and we would rather look at what you actually have and tell you than print a number that is wrong about half the time.

How the pricing works

The terms, in short

  • $1.99 listing fee per card. Charged whether the card sells or not.
  • $5 minimum on a single card. Anything cheaper goes into a bulk lot instead, so nothing gets turned away.
  • $2.99 a lot instead of per card. Lots run 10 to 15 cards and we build them for you, because that is what fits a tracked envelope.
  • Paid within 3 business days of eBay releasing the funds to us. eBay holds the funds on a sale until delivery is confirmed, so the clock starts when the money reaches us rather than when the card sells.
  • You get the cards to us, we cover them from there. Use tracking, and insure anything over $100, and we send you a list of what arrived within 2 business days.
  • Everything sells on eBay. Every payment runs through eBay, so you see the real sale price rather than taking our word for it.

Tell us what you have.

A rough idea is enough to get started, so you do not need to list every card or know what anything is worth, and we will come back to you with what we can do.

However you would rather we reach you.
Sets, years, anything graded, anything still sealed, and whatever else comes to mind.
